Douglas Campbell (1912--2007): Mountaineering

In his younger years, Douglas was an active rock climber and mountaineer. Here are some photographs from the trip that he made with brother Donald to the Silvretta Alps in 1937.

His 1949 application for membership of the Scottish Mountaineering Club shows an impressive list of climbs accomplished in the previous 20 years [much of the first ten years accompanied by Donald].
