John Watson's final home
After suffering a stroke in 1901, John Watson was dependent on his daughters' support, living with Kate and Wilson Eccles, while the unmarried Annie acted as caregiver. From family letters, we know that by 1907 they were all living in St. Peter Port, Guernsey. After her marriage to Dick Cowie in 1910, Annie moved away to Malmesbury, Wiltshire, where John visited them (1911?). By 1912, back in Guernsey, John's health began to decline, and Annie (plus baby Kathleen) went to Guernsey to care for him. He died there early in 1913, being buried in Manchester beside his beloved Ellie.
