This is the Last Will and Testament of me John Watson of Hill in the parish of Stanhope in the County of Durham Miner which I make in manner following /that is to say/

I Give and Bequeath unto Aron Richardson of Hole in the Parish of Stanhope aforesaid Miner, All my Wearing apparel to be delivered to him after my Decease,

I give and Bequeath unto my Dear Wife Jane Watson One Feather Bed Bedstead and Bedding and One Oak Cupboard to be Disposed of as she may think proper, I also give to my said Wife all my Household Furniture Beds Bedsteads and Bedding for and during her Natural Life and after her Death I give all my Beds Bedsteads and Bedding unto Mary the Wife of Joseph Robinson of Hawkwellhead and Jane the Wife of Thomas Rotherford of Hill End equally to be divided Between them

and the rest of my Household Furniture after the Death of my Wife I give and bequeath the same to my Executors hereinafter named for and towards the Payment of my Debts,

I Give and Bequeath unto the said Joseph Robinson and Thomas Rotherford the sum of five Pounds aPiece to be paid to them by Stephen Watson of Bryerhill one of my Executors hereafter named at the End of Twelve Months next after my Decease which said two Sums is not to be paid out of any part of my Personal Estate or Effects,

And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Personal Estate and Effects not hereinbefore Disposed off, I give and Bequeath the same unto my Executors hereinafter named three [...] all my Just Debts and Funeral Expences and the Expences of Proving this my Will,

And I do Nominate and Appoint Aron Richardson of Hole John Richardson of the same Place Stephen Watson of Bryerhill John Watson of Loaning and Stephen Watson of Ireshope Burn Executors of this my Will hereby Revoaking all former Wills by me made and Declare this to be my Last Will and Testament, In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal the 20th day of April in the Year of our Lord 1799. --- John watson

Signed Sealed Published and Declared by the said Testator as and for his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us, who in his Presence at his request and in the Presence of each other, have Subscribed our Names as Witnesses hereto.
