Eleanor Cook grew up in Ballast Hills, Newcastle. She married Rev. John Watson on 26th January 1870, and the couple apparently moved shortly thereafter to John's circuit in Hartlepool.

[The term "Class" refers to a type of religious study group formed by members of the Primitive Methodist Church.]
