Dear Brother.
I received your letter. I have thought it all over. the Docter was in Yesterday & he thinks I am a litle better. he thinks with great care I might live some years longer: he advises me to stay with Mrs Mortensen, who is very kind to me and keeps me comfortable. I do not want to be in a House of my own with Strangers to look after me, and the Docter sais I could not get any one suitable to look after me. so I think the best Plan is to get two Rooms and put my Furniture and Belongings into them until such times as Annie can come and arrange them for me.
I am not able to arrange the Boxes to let them come to Gurnsey. Mr Pettler kindly offered to put some of them in, but that is a great defficulty as I will want some of my Clothes. Bed Clothes. if I live my Clothes is in several Boxes and they will all have to stay until Annie comes. there can be no change done with them untill I have seing Annie. they will have to remain in the House I have taking; as Mrs Mortensen will be removing in six Weeks time & she will take me & one box & I can stay with them until I am better; as I know Annie would not like to leave the Island before she see Mr Covie.
the House I am going to get will be 3/4 pr Week & I will have to pay Mrs Mortensen 2/6 pr Week for one Room and have the use of her Frontroom and Kitchen as I want to. that will be cheaper than paying A Woman to look after me because there would be the Womans Food and lots of Extras. I sends for Mrs Watson tree times to ask her to take me in but she said she could not. so you see now how I am situated, how it has put me about.
Dr French has a Form waiting to be drawn up for all my money in the Newcastle Building Society and all my valueable Linen & China & Silver & quilts & my valueable Trinkets & watch & all Annies & my valuable Clothes & Mothers some of wich are not made up & all my Household Furniture & Cuchons. as I thought you not been in the Posision now that you ware when Kate was married, a lot of those things would be usefull for Annie; so that is why I want Annie here to see what was in the Boxes and write to you what there was. you see every thing depend on Annie coming to get my Affairs settled. so if she could come at once it would be better because I would have to be with her when the Boxes were opened; and if she does not come before we get removed there will be a Cab each Way as I am not able walk the Road.
I have full Pover to leave the Things to who I like, but when Annie comes I might leave a Thing or two to Mrs Watson. you see how important it is for Annie to come and see all I have; and I dont know how long I might live & what I might need my self, as Mr & Mrs Mortensen cannot make no better arrangement for me as I wish to keep a Home of my own. there is one or two things at Ann Harrisons New House wich I will tell Annie about when she comes.
I conclude now with love
P. Watson
[P.S.] write soon for delay is dangerous.
