Dear Miss Watson

As requested in your letter to John I write to tell you about Sarah Ann illness. She came to Weardale last Oct from Hartlepool and has been in failing health ever since. her complaint was dropsy. she was in a cottage by her Self. if she had her health, she would Soon have been very comfortable, as people were all very kind with her. I don't think she took any hurt: she had all that she required. She used to sometimes talk to me about you and wonder how you were getting on. there is no doubt she took Stephen's death badly as she thought a great deal of him. brother Thomas is in pretty good health and is still working at his trade. Weardale is still very dull: So little work in it. we have had a very cold spring so far. I think I must close as I have given you all the news I have. hoping this will find you in good health, as I am at present, from yours truly
